New Burning rules in our County...to conform to EPA rules

I use to think it was just a California thing... now my thinking has changed because so much of what starts here eventually goes nationwide... it might take 15 or 20 years.

There isn't an aspect of living that someone doesn't want to control... at least this is my view.

Well maybe it is a West Coast thing... especially since the governors of California, Oregon and Washington pledged to work in unison on environmental issues...

YUP, what you call the west coast we here call the left coast. They dont care what their regs do to the average joe trying to get by.

The local guys know it's silly, but their hands are tied. They send out mailers with the rules on, but that's as far as it goes, for now.

My neighbor use to be the county fire commissioner. I was burning personal papers and some tree limbs in an illegal burn barrel one day when he came over.

Kenny: You know burn barrels are illegal right?
Me: Yep, want a beer?
Kenny: Sure.

I think he was concerned about "garbage burning" but when he saw I was just cleaning out the file cabinet he wasn't going to get to hard on me.

I chip/make rounds out of 90% of the trees I take but still burn the stumps. A 4'x4'x4' pile here requires no permit and I always do this on winter days when conditions are favorable.

again we need to remove the politicians from office that support such foolish things. We can do it if everybody in the rural areas vote. Now rural voting turnout is low compared to the city. We must take the country back from the socialists. Liberal's want everyone in lock step with their notions and are gaining complete control simply because those of us in the real rural areas do not take time to vote.

I think the 1000' rule only applied to the use of a combustor, which would only be used when clearing land commercially.
