Another place a TLB has it hands down on a trackhoe is trenching steep grades. My neighbor has a smaller JCB that I started using but the pucker factor trying to trench for the water line from the well to my house was too much for me.
With my 580k I simply start at the top and work my way down. I use the hoe as an anchor to lower myself down to the next spot to dig. Once in position I use the front bucket to level myself as much as possible and dig more trench. I doubt the hoe would have rolled over but the TLB is much more stable.
Since you already have a TLB I think a mini-hoe would be your best option. Kind of a best of both worlds. I would get one with a blade and I would get the largest weight you feel comfortable towing.
