Tractor
2003 Kubota BX1500/2004 Kubota Bx23/2005 Kubota BX1500
Not bad for 3 BXs and 6 years of owner ship.
Here's the thing that sorta suprised me .
When I removed the front wheel on the 2003 BX1500 there was a steel spacer between the rim and the hub.
It looked to be about 1/4 to 3/8 inches thick .
Anyone on TBN have such a spacer on their BX1500 ?
I bought the tractor used and am inclined to think a previous owner added the spacers.
That is the trouble with buying used / u don't know what some one else did to it.

i had repeated flats with my BX. Put in tubes and all was well.

I just had the second flat on my BX 24. Not sure what happened but the tire split in the middle of the sidewall and the steel wire was showing thru. I don't think a tube will work here as I figure if I can see the wire on the outside there is likely some showing on the inside and that rules out using a tube. I checked at the dealer and the price of the new tire is $77. Seems like a lot for an oem tire when I can get a good one for about $80. What do you all think?

I have had a couple of BX's, but not a 1500 series. No spacers for me. Since you have another one pull a tire and let us know what you find.

My front tires went flat, realized after the second time I inflated them the needle valve in the valve stem was leaking.....tightened the needle valve and no more flats. Air was leaking very slowly you might want to check that first

After my third rear tire flat the first summer... I had the tires foamed filled and never looked back...

My right front has started leaking just this last 2 weeks. Will hold for a few days and then be partially flat for the next day. Weird.

Just like my BX2660. I keep the air compressor next to the Bota, and fill the front right tire if it's been more than 2 weeks since last use. The front left had the same problem, actually worse, but I put a tube in it last year. It's been ok ever since. One of these days I'll tube the right one.

This BX is the only one that has spacers.
I found out i could see if any spacers are on either of the other 2 BXs by a simple visual inspection.
Just wonder if any one eles has these spacers on any of their BXs

Not sure why you need the tires inflated when the crane keeps you up in the air!!!

Must have ran over a nail or a thorn there was nothing in the tire but a small hole.
The bead was starting to leak some .
The tire shop fixed the hole and reseailed the tire with bead seal .
All's good with it now.

To drive it in the garage to store it over night.;)

Old thread, but had my first flat on my BX today with a grand total of 12 hours on it. Front left. I think I'm just going to yank both front tires off and have them both tubed on Monday. Nip this thing in the bud.

Sorry to hear that. I got a flat on the rear of my brand new BX in the first couple of days. It was a puncture in the right rear. I keep plugs on hand so it took me only a couple minutes to fix it. As long as it isn't a bead leak, punctures can be fixed pretty easily, cheaply and quickly.

John, there isn't a mean streak in you is there? ;) My membership won't get past the introductory offer. They offered me one flat front, I accepted and plan on raising them two tubes and two tire liners if available.

I've got a honey locust in the fence line. It caused me a few flats on my old lawn mower till I slimed the tires. I'd like to avoid that this time if possible. I hear the tire folk hate to deal with tires that have that in them almost as much as they hate "fix-a-flat".

I had a honey locust tree at one time many, many years ago. Way before tractor days. It had thorns 3 to 4 inches long that could jump 4 feet to stick me. If you still have it you better either stay at least 20' away from it or do the solid foam filled tires.
I punctured one of my tires on my F with a wire in my mowing area and bought a tire repair kit at Advance auto for $10 give or take $5 which has plugs and tool for I think like 40 repairs. You may need one of those.
The one front turf tire going flat on the BX's were not usually due to punctures, they just would lose air.
I had Slime almost ordered off Amazon and Ebay before, had it in my hands at Wal Mart and TSC but just couldn't bring myself to buy it. Tubes took care of my problem every time (dealer paid instead of getting me a new tire which Barlows offered to do) or just traded off the tractor once and that took care of that one. My current BX has the I/R4 tires, I think and they have never been a problem. For me it was the turfs and I liked the turfs on BX's but hated the one flat front one.:).

Dropped the tires off at the dealer today for tubes. They said they had something called Thorn Shield which acts like Slime but cleans up easy when you change the tire. I asked about tire liners and he said they were rare to see and expensive when you did. I had them put the TS in there along with the tubes. If they recommend it and install it, they shouldn't have any hard feelings about having to deal with it when I eventually need new tires mounted or the old ones serviced for some reason.
