l3400 oil capacity! !

The manual says 6 qts., but either the manual is wrong or my dipstick is.

My WSM says 6 quarts with a filter change, If you are not changing the filter you are right on the money:thumbsup:

Yep. Both plugs, and a new kubota filter.

I'm sure that you are aware that not all jugs of oil are 1 gallon any longer. Some are 5 quarts or 5+ quarts. Make sure that you did not use a 5 quart jug thinking it was a 4 quart jug. I did have a friend who made that mistake.

When I bought my L3400 it showed overfull on the dipstick. I changed my oil a couple weeks ago and used a Kubota filter. I removed both drain plugs and let it drain completely. I put in exactly 6 quarts per the manual and like yours it shows overfull.
I am going to leave the 6 qurts in there. I thought it was just my tractor. Guess not. Brian

This is exactly what happened when I did the first oil change on my L3400. I drained some out so it was correct on the dip stick.

Now when I change oil I put in 5 qts and then after running, I add until full.
