Oil & Fuel Oil in 2000BD Brake Drum ????

I bought a new set of brake shoes for my YM2000BD thinking the brakes where shot since the did not work at all. So, i took off the brake housing/plate showing that my brake shoes and the brake drum was just totally covered in oil.

I'm guessing I have a seal that is bad, but which one and where is it located and how hard is it to replace? If i had to guess i would say that the seal in question is #30??? any advice on how to change this oring, if infact that is the reason i have oil in my brake drum?

OK thanks. I have been trying to pull the drum for the past two hours,( usinf a clutch puller) any suggestions?

You did remove the nut?

Had to do the same thing on my 1610D and was tough getting the drums off also. I ended up going to Advanced Auto and buying a three jaw gear/seal puller. I had a two jaw but the way the drum was made the two jaws would not align with anything for the jaws to grab. I have a good friend in Terra Alta and he was born and lived in Garrett county for awhile, super nice area. Best of luck with your project.

So i am correct using the gear puller. BOY that thing is on there ! it makes sme crazy sounds when i wrench on the puller.
