I wish you guys would throw away those coupler ends for your grease guns. I use a one handed pistol type grip to pump and a flexible rubber hose with a needle point type tip instead of those darn couplers. Don't just settle for a cheap NAPA brand needle tip try a good one like a lincoln. Good auto stores carry them. One hand on the gun and the other holds the needle tip firmly in the center of the zerk. A couple squeeze's on the pistol grip grease gun with the other hand and it beats heck out of struggling with the coupler.

I think you should try it you will never have to struggle with those unruly coupler ends again.

The grease doesn't get where it needs to be on most fittings using a needle tip. The grease needs to be in the middle of the joints to do any good.
A needle tip just lays the grease along the edges where its doing no good at all.

Well.Not in my experience. If you pump until grease comes out of the joint that should be sufficient whether it comes from a barrel tip or a needle. To each his own.

Excuse me? I DO know how to use a grease gun! and my remark about a Kubota was a joke prompted by the fact that it is near impossible to find parts for my Kioti. So far I have had two parts lost or broken only to discover that the sizes specified cannot be found in the U.S. and I DID go to the Kioti dealer (which I stated earlier) and they don't even have the correct size. Don't you think I would have bought some if they did? So there is no need for stupid insults just because I am frustrated by the unavailability of Kioti parts. And are you serious that the solution is to re-tap the threads!

The Kioti zerks are not steel, they're brass. If you're planning on ignoring me then hi-tail it off my thread until you can learn how to interact with others who actually have something to share of a positive nature. And as lilranch stated, (not verbatim), if the interloper 'knew how to use a grease gun' this dragging out of this thread into oblivion would not have happened.
Random speculation of what could happen in your world view is largely irrelevant here.
Facts and part numbers for the correct zerks are what this thread is about, nothing else.
Now drop it and move on.

Yea, I noticed mine got removed also. But the recommendation on the drilling and tapping to 1/8" pipe is still a option. We sell Zerks for about 16 cents and they are steel not brass. CJ

I beg forgiveness if I misinterpret, but that post (quoted) makes it sound like you think the needle tip is used around the edges of a joint (i.e. where the grease squeezes out). This is not the case. The needle tip is placed right in the center of the zerk, where it presses in the ball, and the grease goes in... into the same place as if a standard grease coupler is used.

I agree that if you try to grease the edges of a joint with that needle tip, the grease won't be where you want it... and it would take you 5 hours and 22 minutes to grease around the whole tractor!!! :laughing::laughing:
