Mowing YQM-48 Mower

I have not been successful trying to locate this part.

I did a search & found a person that said he had this part.It may have been you asking on the other site. If so . Did that person have the part ?

Where did you find the model number on your mower? I can't find one on mine. My local yanmar dealer (the place that sold them new) said he could get parts for me but he needed the model number.

I think I found the part # KTR-430. ( If it helps)You can have him check to verify

I have the original manual for the mower. In the back it gives all of the part numbers as well as a exploded views to confirm parts.

Let me know if you need a couple numbers.

You are correct....the part number is KTR-430. You will also need a #9 woodruff key......it's part number is PT-230.

I few months ago there was a lead to a person who said he had the part. I contacted him and he had a type "A". My mower has no "A" or "B" designation. I purchased the part from him to try. It did not fit.

This center pulley has a tapered shaft. Other models seem to have a straight shaft.

I was thinking about maybe trying a JD double sheave......but not sure where to start. The old JD 400 mowers had a double sheave pulley on the front.....but I am not sure if it was tapered.

On another thought. Do you know the what model a YM155D crosses over to on the JD line?

Have you tried getting the part from a certified Yanmar parts dealer?

Norm,

I did....even checked out the main headquarters in Japan. They told me the US dealer should have it. All of the records in Japan indicated the US should have it on stock......but according to the Yanmar US.....they do not have one.....and do not plan to carry them anymore.

Maybe OEM is best approach?

Were you speaking directly with Yanmar US, or with one of their dealers? Yanmar US will only sell to their dealers.

I have tried both methods. Yanmar US told me they did not stock them any longer......and dealers did not believe the part number or tapered shaft until I faxed them info.

I have tried Hoye....Little Miami Trading Company....and Sweet Tractors. I also tried a guy in Alabama....named Parker Equipment Co.

Any other dealers you may be aware of that could possibly assist me any further?

I got an e-mail this am . the guy stated there were 2 different pulleys for that unit . The older pulley he gave me part # KTR141.
He says the newer pulley (which he has) is part #KTM482 M
are saying the part # you have is KTR 430 ?

Correct. According to the manual anyway.......it would be interesting to know if one of the two #s he gave you fit a tapered shaft.

He gives the taperon the ktr 482m as .830'' at the bottom to .750'' at the top

malgerton, Gee I hope you are still around. I could sure use a copy of the manual you have. I just got one of these and am having a heck of a time figuring out how to hook it up. Is there any way you could post a copy or email it? Hope! Hope! Tom
