Your towing rigs and trailers

Here’s take 2 of hauling the mini x in my dump trailer. I’m not a big fan of the boom like that but it’s under legal height and the weight distribution is a lot better that way. I wanted to haul it in the dump despite having 2 better trailers because I wanted the dump trailer to pull with the mini and load trash. IMG_9661.JPGIMG_9662.JPG

Does it give you adequate tongue loaded like that? It’s impossible to tell from the picture but looks like the weight is mostly on the trailer axles but with a little on the truck. The weight on the back of excavators makes loading a little different from other equipment. Good looking setup and nice to be able to take only one trailer instead of making two trips.

That looks proper and well balanced. If you end up hauling it often in the dump, you could build a minimal cradle of sorts to set the bucket on, while keeping it low enough to get the tarp over. Is the hitch on the front blade a clamp-on deal, or did you just weld a receiver tube on top?

It had a 2” receiver welded on it when I got it but I’m probably going to weld a ball straight on the top of the blade. The hitch sticking off a foot isn’t ideal.

The dump trailer axels are farther back than a typical trailer would be. And the mini is pretty well balanced end to end with the boom up close. I took the dump trailer to the landfill the other day and it’s riding around 1000 pounds on the hitch empty. My truck with beefed up springs is hiding how much weight there is on the hitch.

I just noticed it’s a Kaufman dump. Paint falling off yet? My Kaufman is super thin and not exactly looking like the long lasting type of paint....

Only on one spot where it’s dented.

Any of you guys running a Super Duty 7.3 gasser? I'm looking at one and would appreciate any feed back.

Why the 7.3? I thought F150 eco boost trucks were amazing.

Here’s a skid steer in my dump trailer. It works fairly well for hauling compact equipment but there’s no way my M59 or tractor with implement would fit. IMG_9684.JPG
