Your last generator Maintenance Run

Ran the Subaru for an hour two days ago. The heaters also tested the idle control system well.View attachment 1159251

Nice looking generator but it's disappointing how so many designs have way too small diameter wheels for anything other than asphalt pavement or concrete surface.

I have replaced tiny wheels on some equipment to be able to push them on gravel etc. and have a small collection of tiny wheels in the back corner of my shop!

Couple of examples with proper size wheels, and a handlebar out of an old exercise bike...

it really didn't have the 20+ hp it needed, but that FI engine started marvelously in the cold and was utterly reliable for me.
Mine was the lowest possible model, I think a 450?
huge value at ten grand and ride was superb. Just was kinda noisy and slow. Most of those small utv's have terrible sounding engines.
I'd like a liquid cooled one with a nice set of pipes on a 25hp twin.
shut the motor up and let's hear the pipes, or not hear them at all.

Subaru apparently decided making cars had become so complicated, so demanding from tech investment, they just couldn't fiddle with small engines any more. Thank goodness we still have Honda.
Biggest complaint I heard about the 400's was, too much vibration and noise and not enough power.

I sure like my new 520 though,

I have 3 Honda inverters, 7000, 2200, and 2000 watts.
I ran the 7000 & 2200 for 1.5 hrs Friday, after a squirrel climbed the pole and fried himself, blowing a line fuse on the pole.

I looked at a 400 at one time and then found a deal on a diesel…

Might need to revisit and consider the 520.

nice looking Subie gen Aba
Subaru stopped making small engines and gens in 2017.
Their engines were excellent, in fact Kubota used Subaru to make the sixteen horse one lunger I had in my Kubuta utv. I believe Kubota bought the rights to that engine.
Yours looks like new, you clearly take care of it.
Subaru 22hp v-twin is a nice engine
Do you plug that into a transfer box for whole house power?

I see some still being sold as new in commercial markets.
They have full five year warranties, that's impressive
Yes, unfortunately Fuji Heavy Industries got out of the power product business in 2017. Yamaha got most of their Power Products.

Separately, the generator only has @33 hours and I got it in 01/2017. Came inside a steel cage frame on a pallet; made in Japan. Subaru made this model for Makita (G12000R), Yamaha (EF12000DE) and perhaps also Kubota and Hitachi, not sure. My RGV12100 has never experienced a true power outage. My home now has a standby, so this is more for emergencies. It still has the Yuasa AGM (GYZ32HL) battery I installed in 2017. I do take care of it running it periodically and performing oil changes; even with @33 hours it has had a few oil/filter changes.

I do have a 50 amp GE power inlet box and this 50' Southwire cable, both sitting inside boxes. In addition to the standby, the current home also a 30 amp inlet. I will have to get an electrician to replace the 30 amp with the new 50 amp inlet box someday.

The RGV12100 and RGV13100T generators did come with tiny wheels from the factory but an optional wheel kit with handle was available. I looked but was not successful in procuring the optional kit for my 12100. With a dry weight of @330 lbs and full weight of @415 lbs., the generator is a pain to move/turn etc. Someday, I may change the wheels to suitable larger ones.
