Out on my morning walk, maybe a 1/4 mile away when it started. Suckah's noisey!! Doesn't matter too much out here, but if I was in an urban setting and several of them were running all night, I might be a wee bit annoyed.

45 min. South East of Portland, elevation 2000’ rain today. 77” since September and 30 plus” of snow! Loving retirement!
A bit warm your way ! Rainy day here, so I've got more keyboard time today to dream up projects for other people
!When I posted above (sloped roof suggestion), I was thinking later - with high Summer ambients and sun-load, you'd also get some temperature drop inside the generator enclosure, by keeping the sun off with an elevated roof....
Your ToDo list DI is probably at least as long as mine, so I'll be quiet now !

Sound can travel a long way in the country, but that's a bit surprising.
Modern Generacs seem fairly quiet, but I don't know the older ones as well as grs would. You might want to PM grs your model info, and price a muffler for yours; I'm wondering if the baffles are out of it now..... Might have previously been owned by a Harley rider
But, loud+electrons flowing sure beats days or weeks of grid-down quiet, esp. @ 100F !

Probably best to call.... I know that many commercial suppliers I deal with up here are short on staff, and are not getting to things as timely as they used to....
That ^, and i know (in my case) some Fleetguard and Baldwin filters are often running behind in the chain, so they'll often come in/go out of a distributor the same or next-day on stock b/o's.....

Well not technically a maintenance run. It is in the 90’s here and power went out. Generator fired right up. Needed to water the horses so no choice in the matter. Thankfully we have a window ac in the bedroom so can run that to sleep if need be.
