Do you have a close-up shot of this $80 panel BT ?

Good sized tank for home use

Rgds, D.

No, no close-up, but I can get one I suppose.

As for the tank, if I did my math right, once full, it should last around 70 days. The longest I have ever been without power here is 14 days.

I did notice I wired that Load Panel a little wrong.

It is not the end of the world because as wired, it shows me both Grid Power, and Generator power, (Voltage and Hertz) but it does not show the amps coming out of the generator.

To see what the Generator is putting out I would have to route the main lead THROUGH the Load Panel and not back to it as it is now.

Not knowing the exact amp meter installed in your panel I can't say for sure, but.
Most of those meters are set up for CTs (current transformer) to feed them,
not as feed through current meters.
The CTs are bought for the meter scaling and will often provide a 0 to 5 volt signal for 0 to full scale.
So you can put the CT around any single hot leg and wire the leads back to the Current meter.

agree. thats what im asking above. if hes not getting 12V+ then the trouble is in the expensive controller. was hoping its in the cheaper board. problem with generac is they dont have any reference material available to troubleshoot circuitry within a board or a controller. there have been people repairing a defective controller, but thats way beyond my pay grade. one thing about servicing these units in person, i have nearly every part on my truck, so i can try different parts to help track down any issues. hard to do on a online chat.

I do have a question about the Generac transfer switch. Studying it, I see that there is a diode bridge in both of the transfer coils. What is the advantage or reason for using DC coils rather than AC. IMG_4943.jpg
You can see that my switch has an extra part and doesn’t use all the connections.

There not dc coils. There 240 VAC coils.

They are definitely fed 240VAC, but I’m pretty sure that I saw a schematic showing a full wave bridge feeding them, possibly imbedded in the coils themselves.
Again, I could be wrong, but pretty sure that’s what I came across.
I really wish that Generac provided better documentation, especially schematics.

That was the one that I saw, it shows two full wave bridges, one for each coil.
