Thanks for posting this, it's VERY close to what I had in mind! Looks like you've got a slider setup in there to get the generator out, too? Do you have any more pics of that? Well done, Rusty!
Looking back on these pics from last Feb, I believe I want a little crazy on this project. insulation, mouse proofing and waterproofing. Must have been a long winter:laughing:
A combination of steel and wood, with a lifting eye I needed to transfer that load from the base to the ridge.
just various photos during the build. (I didn't document it for a pictorial)
The lower frame (for forklifting) the drawer slides with a full 3' extension. They were a little spendy but rated for iirc 350# each. That's a hunk of the "old" style bedliner hoping to keep out the mice. The floor got 2 layers of p-iso foam under the drawer slides.
Osb to screw the metal to and mouse deterrent. The drawer frame is fully extended here.
That hunk of insulation poking out of the "roof" is what's in the ceiling. There's an intake and exhaust vent on each side to allow airflow through the radiator. I did go a little **** on this thing. I was shooting for a 60w light bulb to heat the (closed up) interior for easy starting in the coldest of weather.
You can see the radiator just inside that opening, and the reverse plug (male) to attach an extension cord to power an inside receptacle for the battery tender and light bulb.
The air exhaust. Just pull that insulated panel off, I wasn't real happy with my "door" on the other side and it was a pita to build. That conduit of for the 30A cord to connect to the house and through the panel interlock set up.
For the diesel exhaust I just ran a pipe through the top with a silicone "boot" to flash it to the roof. It's located directly above the (smaller) vertical pipe that exits the machine, about a 1/2" above it allowing the drawer to slide.
And of course, our Jack Russell.
