A buddy's father passed while re-roofing their house. He was in his early 70's, and into fasting.

Apparently putting a new roof on your house in summer heat, while fasting in your 70's, is a recipe for negative outcomes. Who knew?

I've never had the gall to ask him how they got the body off the roof. Seemed an insensitive question, no matter how curious I am.

I'm thinking a rolling motion.

Down the chimney like Santa?
His last words: "A new roof even if it kills me"?
Roofing nails for the coffin lid?
Extra shingles thrown on top?
Roof turn out OK...any leaks?

These are all questions I would of asked.

I learned this story probably 15 years ago, and knowing myself, I am almost sure I would've asked this question. Or more likely, "so who finished the roofing job?"

Unfortunately, I don't remember the answer.

I have a pretty good collection of wooden hangars. Great for the Carharts and such!

Again I miss wire hangers, great for sticking stuff together with O/A torch.

Plastic ones just don't work....

Getting old is a PITA, especially when you misplace the tractor keys, look all over, no luck and then find them in the ignition switch on the tractor.. Do that often.

I was able to get a good supply of wire hangers from the uniform service truck driver that I got shop towels from. Still have a bunch of them. I do occasionally cut one up for some odd use, though.
