You know your old when you have trouble putting on your socks or cutting your toe nails.

I used to have to trim my father in-law's finger and toe nails. He couldn't do it because his hands didn't work correctly, and he couldn't reach his feet anymore, being 93 years old. If his wife tried to do it, he'd scream, saying it hurt. But if I did it, he was fine and would say thanks. I think maybe me mother in-law was twisting his arthritic fingers and toes a bit trying to get them into position while facing him, whereas, I'd stand next to him and trim them like they were my own. I miss him.

Christmas was great but I got yet another reminder that I’m getting old.

We had a bunch of younger nieces and nephews over Christmas Eve. I had Dean Martin and Bing Crosby Christmas songs going as background music.

My 18 year old niece asked “who is singing”?

I said “Bing Crosby, maybe the best singer ever”. She looks at me and says “who is that”.

OMG in their language.

After much discussion and and a brief survey, turns out NONE of the kids 18 or under had any clue whatsoever about Bing Crosby, Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra. Not a clue.

I am getting old!!!

when I turned 59 my brother got me a cane. on his birthday I gift wrapped a box of depends and give it to him. Im 69 now and no longer have that problem on birthdays

I finally found a way to cut my toe nails that works for me. I put on my eyeglasses, a headlamp, sit on a low stool, put my feet on a foam pad, use toe nail side cutters for my big toes and regular stainless clippers for the rest.

My toe nails fly sometimes when cut, so I use an exercise mat standing on it's side in front of me to block them.

I used to sit on the couch and do it, but that wasn't working anymore, too damn old.

My toenails (especially big toe) are thick and rather brittle. Works best to cut them right after I get out of the shower and they're somewhat soft. Otherwise they kind of splinter into what my wife calls dagger toes.

After dad had back surgery and lost a lot of his flexibility, and after mom passed, I had to cut his toenails. The worst part was that he also had nail fungus. I finally got him to go to the doctor and get a prescription that got rid of it, about two month before he passed.

When you put off cutting your toe nails, and when you finally do, it feels like such a great accomplishment that you give yourself the rest of the day off…..
