Getting back to pretty girls when I was in 7th grade gradeschool there was this Native American girl who liked me (why is a mystery ). This isn't her but you get the idea. When she kissed me I'd pass out!

... when you realize there are a very limited number of seasons or years left, where you're going to be physically able to complete some of those projects you've been putting off for "someday". Better get that roof replaced, while you're able!

No .... stay off the roof old man. Falls are a leading cause of death among us old guys. Take some of that money you have rat holed away and pay a young roofer to do the work. Then sit in your lawn chair with your iced tea and watch em work.
I'm speaking from experience. 5 yrs ago I told 2 young boys I would teach them a trade. I bought the materials and paid the wages while instructing them on how to lay asphalt shingles. We replaced all the Facia board and did a roof over.
They were happy. I was happy.
