My new air compressor arrived last night. I picked it up at the trucking depot because I did not want to try to unload it out on the state highway in front of my house with the driver waiting for me to figure out how to do it. I put the pallet in the loader and strapped the top to the hooks on the bucket. The tractor lifted and moved it with no problem. Shipping weight was 655 lbs.

very nice! I see you got a matching paint on compressor as well! :D What kind of a compressor is that ? It looks like a heavy duty type and I want one!;)

That's not bad using a loader (according to the Kubota web-site) with a lift capacity of 518 lbs.

Nice looking compressor too. It even matches your tractor.

The compressor is an Eaton brand. They call it a Polar Air. It is 5 HP, two stage. You get to choose vertical or horizontal and choose the color. I choose to match the BX.

Hey Tommy... Nice compressor really love the color - never seen an orange compressor,
I know your gonna love it, hope it works well for you! I noticed in your pictures you fly the flag on your wall, being a veteran of the U.S. Navy I really appreciate it when I see someone who cares enough to display the flag. Because you have the flag "flying" in your shop I would like to bring to your attention the proper way to display it. Here is a web site to help you, Flag Rules and Regulations please look at number 8. No disrespect to you! Just thought since you are patriotic enough to display it you may want to take a look at this site.
Thanks from a Vet!

Glad to see you got the job done safely!

Glad it worked out for you but just a little advise (maybe you did and I didn't see it) but you should use a safety chain, doesn't have to be tight, just incase one of those straps breaks. I've learned the lesson that those straps aren't always as strong as they say. Hate to see a nice correctly colored air compressor on the ground.

I have been looking at the eaton website and I like the features. Its seems to be the best aircompressor I ever seen. It even allows you to rebuild parts to keep it going which is a BIG plus in my book. Gonna ask SWMBO for one for xmas. :D . Tommy, let us know whats your review is on the air compressor. any cons issues ?

i personally have an eaton 7.5hp 1ph and the same in an ingersoll rand. the eaton is twice the machine that the ingersoll is. also have one of eaton refergerated dryers which is also super. i know many people who own eatons, some as old as 20+ years and are still going strong. they make a real quality machine. mine is going on 2.5 years and runs all day long. my only complaint would be their ball valves are a little on the cheap side.

ball valves for turning off the air supply you mean? how is it cheap? I just wondered so if I do get one I'll upgrade it when if I manage to snare one.

Dang. Just last week I was puzzling over whether to use the BX FEL to lift my new 500lb table saw out of the back of my pickup. Chickened out, took the crate apart off-loaded the light parts and called my neighbor to help lift the ~300lb saw cabinet out. Could have done it with the BX -- but I was pretty concerned about dropping it, wrecking the tailgate on the truck, breaking something on the loader and smashing the new saw all over the new driveway.

Glad your project went well. Two weeks ago I had to move my LP tanks to paint behind them and the weight was past the BX. The loader was strong enough to hold the weight of one tank but not strong enought to lift the tank. I was able to lift the tank using the bucket rotation. The buckets single cylinder seems to have more power that the loader dual cylinders. I got the job done but if the tanks had been filled I doubt I would have been sucessful.
