Who added the copper rig job! I see no reason for it unless the Eng. block is warped. They missed it? Fredricks put the copper patch and then put it together? This is so highly unusual I don't think of any of the Refurbished has had this many problems. Somethings just not adding up. I'm waiting to hear the outcome. Strange problems for sure. After they've been though it.

To my eyes, that thin black line is visible in the video that you posted above, around 1:35.

I hope that this gets resolved soon. If it were me, I would be super thankful to have bought the tractor from a dealer like Frederick's that is standing behind it all.

All the best,

Peter
Peter,

I truly do wish all this wouldn’t be happening. This has literally been a nightmare and a MAJOR headache. I have honest to God lost sleep over this tractor.
I’ve made several “big” purchases over the years, including different tractors. This purchase has been, BY FAR, the worst purchase I’ve ever made in my life.

BUT with that said, I am definitely thankful that I bought from Fredricks Outdoor in Decatur, Alabama. So far, they have stood beside me 100%. I haven’t had to take any legal action.

Danny Speakman (parts specialist) and Stephen Fredricks (service manager) has been kind to me through many phone calls and emails, and are trying to make things right, to my satisfaction.

I have NEVER experienced anything like this in my life.
But one way or another, I truly do believe Fredricks will change this bad situation into a positive outcome.

Carey,

Yes, Fredricks added the copper when they installed the new cylinder head on the replacement engine block at their service center.

I use to work at a Machine shop. We rebuilt Engines. My job as a teen was tear down. I was responsible to disassemble and check if the motor or any parts was usable. I was 18-19 then. The Eng block. How didn't they see the damage?

@Travis_R I think that it is a bit like having a wonderful present taken away, regardless, I hope that you get better sleep and that this resolves happily, sooner rather than later.

Thanks for the posts. For folks like me, without any skin in the game, it is a bit like reading a good murder mystery. (And in murder mysteries virtue triumphs, right?)

All the best,

Peter

Peter,

There was a lot of excitement on November 22nd, 2024, when we took our overnight road trip to Fredricks Outdoor to pickup the tractor. Especially from a well-known reputable establishment. I wasn’t expecting a single problem or issue.

My local repair shop, that’s working on the tractor now, is top-notch. The man knows his stuff. He retired as a heavy equipment mechanic and opened up his own shop at his house. His shop is well-organized and clean. I just hope it can be fixed and the engine block is not bad again.
