YM2310

Hello
I am about to start looking at some Yanmar's Is the YM2310 a better buy over a YM2610? The deler has some of each, I am just not sure witch Model would be best. What do you think? I am open for your input.

Hi welcome to TBN, I have a 2610 and love it, I think the only difference is HP, you will really like the power shift thats comes on both of them, what are you planing to do with the tractor and how much land do you own, both questions for knowing what size you will need, hours and are they used are rebuilt is something to look at before you buy. This Is a great web page you can learn a lot from others on here. I just got a YM 2310 last week 2wd not sure If I needed a 4wd but so far Its a good tractor I have 10 acres up In GA were am from and working on at this time, I have a 5' bushog and 5' box blade that I work with. for now Iam clearning up 2 acers. as for the tractor It works great for me, Its rated at 27 hp and I really like the shuttle shift It take a lot of work out. Hope this helps you In buying a tractor.

Welcome aboard.

From the info I have, the 2610 tips te scales at about 700# more than the 2310. A good portion is due to the 4wd Vs the 2wd but also suppect some is heavier running gear to handle the larger power.

Even if you would use in 2wd most of the time, you will in all likelihood run into situations where the 4wd is a real plus.

If the price diff isn't too great I would give serious consideration to the larger model just for the 4wd.

Of course if you don't need 4 wheel drive, it can also be more things to go wrong, as if you read the post on here. You will find a lot of them is because of the front problems. Some don't have any, but there is quite a few that do have in time, one reason or the other. I don't really need it, so that is why I won't buy it. All the times, where I thought I might, the diff. lock took care of the problem.
