yanmar ym2000
I have a yanmar ym2000 that I have had for 8-9 years that recently started over heating. I can run it for about 15-20 minutes and it starts steaming out the over flow. I have checked the water pump and it seems fine. Does anyone have any ideas where to check next.

Clean and flush the radiator. Then check that you have good flow. If that doesn't help then a auto parts store should have a pressure tester you can rent to see if it's getting pressured up. If it's getting pumped up then bad Head Gasket or Cracked Head/Eng. Block. Also see and make sure there is no water in your Engine Oil.
Not an Expert but that will rule out the basics.

My 1900 got hot a couple of years ago while I was mowing a field. Turned out to be the screen in front of the radiator and the radiator itself had gotten plugged up with some very fine weed pollen. Cleaned them by running water from a garden hose from the backside of the radiator and the problem went away. Now I take a hose to the radiator a couple of times a year and have not had anymore over heating problems.

When i mow i have to stop every 15-30 mins to clean the seeds and fluff off the screen. I mow only twice to 3 times a year to the stuff is waist high right at rad level when i mow, if i mowed every 3-4 weeks it would not be a problem
