Hello All,
I have found a leak at #20 spindle gasket, can the spindle be dropped out,new gasket replaced and slide the spindle back up
rebolt, or is it more involved. It is just a drip now and the 4 bolts are tight, thinking the gasket is bad. Has anybody done this before?
thanks in advance for any help with this.

Two thoughts here.
1. Item-26 has a long smooth bar possibly running to the top well past item-35.
If you pull out item-26, all of those parts internally will collapse inside the item-15 gear housing.
Thus, this entire item-15 gear housing and item-25 spindle housing would need to be separated back to item-42.

2. If possible, loosen item-26 just enough to slip out the old gasket without all the internal stacked parts falling off. Clean what you can. Now with item-20, turn it 90 degrees to slip over item-26, then reposition where it must go. A thin coating of RTV that is compatible with gear lube/grease onto the gasket would be best. Not a fun job, but doable. Just make certain item-26 doesn't fall out!
