Hello,

I just bought a 1300 D and have a strange problem. The oil seems to be very light and watery but not milky so I believe diesel is leaking into the block. I figured it was a leaking injector.

I had a hard time getting the engine to turn over so I figured the cylinder was full of diesel. I started cranking it with the decompression lever engaged and it fired right up. However it went to full throttle and the lever on top of the injector pump did not do a thing. I could move it very easily from side to side with no response. I shut off the diesel to stop it but while I waited oily diesel started pouring out of a tube on the underside of the injector.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this?

I have attached a picture of the tube.

Is your oil level high? Sounds like your injector pump is giving up the ghost.

The oil level is fine, the previous owner may have drained some out.

It may be the metering rod link has either popped off or broken.

You should have an inspection cover on the side of your pump. Remove it and use a flashlight to see if the rod is connected.
