Yellow Belt

My son Warren who's 4 tested for his yellow belt tonight and passed. Now he's running around the house at Mach 3. Well that was untill he got hungery and asked if I could make up a batch of biscuits. So now he's eating biscuits downstairs and watching truck racing. I asked him what it felt like to get his yellow belt and he said,"It was like bursting down a door." This time the testing was more formal calling the students to come up in front of the table to respond to the questions. He looks so small up there but came through with flying colors.

Congrats. 4's a great age to start martial arts if you've got a good instructor who makes it more fun than work. Good for coordination, discipline, and teaches them self confidence. Can't wait till Maddy's a little older.

My boy is also 4 and seems to have inclinations towards martial arts. Also swimming, soccer, basketball, gymnastics, T-ball, etc. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

With my own martial arts background, I thoroughly approve of exposing kids to it at the earliest opportunity. They might go in thinking they're gonna "kick some butt", but will quickly learn what it is really all about -- discipline, self-confidence, respect, courtesy, poise, etc. The best part is, it is still fun for them and they don't even notice the difference. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

You have every right to be proud, and you and your wife should give yourselves a pat on the back, too. Warren wouldn't have earned that yellow belt without a little dedication from both of you. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Thanks for all the nice comments. Toddler he teach's Traditional style. Everyone we see now knows he's a
yellow belt. What fun!!
