Your cylinders are going to be plenty big

It looks good how much can that lift with the back wheels staying on the ground?.

yep cylinders came off of a mining drill (no idea what they are rated to) and jack also no idea yet thats why there is half a kilometer of box section hanging out the back waiting for counterweight

It's going to take some HP to fill those cylinders. What size pump do you have?

The pressure should be OK, but the flow rate might be to slow.

I had to put a smaller pulley on my pump to speed up the loader. It can lift over 800 pounds with 1150 psi.

faxman you are correct i finally got to test the pump out and the pressure is fine but the flow is quite slow, are you using a proper hydraulic pump or a vane power steering pump?
------------------

It is the hydraulic pump that Kwik-Way used on the loader, made for a garden tractor.

I bought it at an auction 10 years ago.

You should be able to change pulley sizes to speed it up. It was made for much higher rpm's than your mower engine is turning.

Power steering pumps usually have a built in flow control valve to limit the flow at high rpms. It may not do any good to speed it up.

bigdeano has got it, I tried it at higher rpm and it was the same speed and the pump did not sound very happy. but good news i am picking up 1 maybe 2 gearpumps after work and will hopefully try them tomorrow.

Here is a short video of my extremely safe hydraulic testing bench :p the power steering pump was deemed too slow and I have now obtained a PLP20 16D gearpump testing will begin hopefully tomorrow.

oops my fault, try again should be all good now :D

Yep, worked.

Keep in mind that the two cylinders in parallel will move at half the speed of the one in your test.

finally have the hydraulic gear pump mounted with a pulley reduction drive, this was the only option i could see as the pump has to be turned clockwise.

And it lives! Finally got to test it this evening, the movement rate is excellent but holy crap thos cylinders are strong (tore a clevis mount straight off of the bucket) :ashamed: but now i know that it works and I will pull it apart again and brace everything properly. oh and maybe put some air in the front tyres

Definitely consider doing the spindle upgrade: Spindle Upgrade

I did that on mine, and it was a big help. I did the one where the 1" spindles were drilled out 3/4" and slipped over, but I just welded mine on. There was a flange on mine just inside the wheel bushings, so I added a gusset plate that tied that in to the spindle too.

Of course, then the next thing you need to upgrade will be the steering...
