Re: Yanmar\'s \"gray\" position

I didn't catch the part about the throttle.. someone run it by me.... I must have 'been outta the room' during that part.

Re: Yanmar\'s \"gray\" position

Grey Yanmars have the throttle backwards from US tractors. You pull toward you to increase throttle for US tractors and push away from your body for greys.

Other way around.

Re: Yanmar\'s \"gray\" position

On my 1995 B7100, you shoved the throttle lever forward to increase RPM and pulled back to idle. It was just the opposite on my 1999 B2710. And since neither were grey market . . .?

Re: Yanmar\'s

I hope I don't need any major parts in the future, it sounds like we won't be able to get them.
I don't think an F15D has a very similar US model.

"I have begun to wonder why someone hasn't gotten into the business of purchasing Yanmar parts in Japan to ship to the US? It seems as though someone could do quite well if they were willing to retain someone in Japan for an extended period."

Doesn't southern-global.com already import parts directly from Japan?

<font color=black>Hmm.. my NH 1920 pushes away from me to increase the throttle....

Oh ok.. I see the other posts now.

Re: Yanmar\'s \"gray\" position

This poses an interesting dilemma for anyone considering the purchase of a "gray" Yanmar. Frankly, if I would have read that notice on the Yanmar website before I bought mine recently, I probably would have "gone on down the road" looking for something less "risky." Since I didn't, and since I have found that there is great support from folks like everyone on this forum, I have no regrets. It also occurs to me that if and when my tractor ever gets to the point of being nonfunctional (hopefully not in my lifetime), Yanmar's and JD's refusal to supply parts has given my tractor that much more value in terms of salvageable parts. I would like to see some "after market" manufacturers pick up on the demand for gray market parts. Not likely as long as lawyers (think U.S. Congress) and large capitalized equipment manufacturers are allowed to control our "free market" economy.

Much more likely than you think!
