Yanmar tiller ID help

You guys sure know how to make an old man happy! I just got a Speeco Quick hitch for my Yanmar 1720D tractor so I don't have to climb up and down with a hammer to change tools! I too have an unidentified Yanmar tiller. Imagine my delight on finding this Thread! I needed to modify the 3 point hitch pin locations on the tiller to get it to fit the hitch. Now I can look for replacement panels, wheels or what ever to help it look, perfom and be better! Thanks!

So we have one vote for a RS1400 tiller.

Could you measure the two end-to-end panels from the inside and give a measurement please. It's one way to verify the model.

If it's a 1400 type, it would be a longer method to determine the exact tiller model.
The most popular sizes are the 1400 & 1600 numbered tillers.

1400 (no prefix letters, usually with numbers on a red background on a green tiller)
RC1400 (the classic)
RC1400K
RC1400K2
RS1400 gen-1 green
RS1400 gen-2 red
RS1400A
RS1403
RS1404

It's possible there are more variations like a 1405, 1406, 1407. I just don't have those manuals.

Do you also need a Koyker 110 manual too?

In my last reply RS-1400 from Fredricks equipment. They told me the rear wheels I wouldn't need. Spalding also Which was true and I better go get it. When they sent the correct Pto. shaft which I had to shorten the Org.. I told them to forget about the wheels. Which they was right of course. If I recall the only thing to worry about is the Gear oil or depenbing on the model chain Driven. My Tiller main Shaft bearing was the worst thing or only thing I didn't care for. Glad I cleaned and greased it. Last one Fred. Had. We had to go to a back warehouse and dig it out. Only lasted a couple days on CL. Yrs. later when I sold it and for what I gave for it. Big Plus

Thanks for all the great info. The width measurement is 48.25 inches. I did get the Koyker manual as well as the manuals for the YM1720D. One of my neighbor's Mom translated all the decals on the tractor for me so I had an edge going in!
I'd like to remove the wheel adjuster if it's not needed but having the extra weight is a good thing? Right?
Does anyone have a picture of how it looked new or at least not beat up like mine! I'd like to spruce it up, when I have a spare moment somewhere between the Honey do list and the repairs needed to be done yesterday! LOL

Does anyone know what went through the "hole" in the middle of the rock guard on the rear?

Another question if I may? I'm assuming that the oil for the tiller gear boxes is 90w heavy duty gear oil? and also is the plug just above and right of the serial number the full mark? Thanks!

No hole in my RS 1400 I can recall. This pic I had out had me thinking that my tiller was bigger that 48". The Tines was my guess. My Rear tires are 49" and you can clearly see the tiller is bigger. Or the Tine width is with No tire tracks. You look to be leaning back as if the Top link needs to be shorter. May not affect anything there though. But watch the PTO shaft alignment and keep it level or straight as possible.

The rock guard is different on yours. I might not have the RS1400!
