My son bought a B7 and found the hydraulic motor for the cooling blower doesn't work. It appears to be connected to a hydraulic control valve with what appears to be an electric solenoid attached to the control valve. Does anyone have any info that might help in diagnosing the problem and fixing it?
Thanks!

I don't own a B7 but do you think that the fan might be thermostatically controlled? Maybe that "solenoid" is a temp sensor. Try jumping it an see if the fan comes on. Just a thought from me. Good Luck

We had that thought and did just as you suggested. The solenoid does activate, but the motor doesn't run. I thought the valve might be stuck
and not opening. We're trying to find a service manual.
