I don't have a 2310 parts manual but according to the 276 and 2210 manual there should be gaskets on the ones mentioned.

You misunderstood Winston...I'm saying that the ones I mentioned did not have a conventional gasket on them when I took it off, they had the "gasket sealent in a tube" type on there. I'm just wondering on the ones that do require the use of a gasket, is there a difference in using an actual replacement gasket from a parts store, as opposed to buying a big tube of permatex and doing all of them for $5 - $10.

And there was nothing on the drop box but the o-ring, but there isn't anything listed in the manual either so I guess an o-ring is fine.

Sorry to be confusing...

I'm slow to catch on. I understood you, just saying I would buy the gaskets if it were mine or buy material and cut them. Sealant will probably hold fine, just seems right to put it back like designed.

And I agree. I just don't know enough about it and thought if there was no difference I would use the goop stuff. I'll order the ones I can get.

Now hopefully the correct gaskets and parts are one the way. Since you was the one that took it apart and found the problems then putting it back together with the correct parts is usually the easiest thing to do. I hope it doesn't become a roll of the dice and you just get lucky getting everything you need.

Been a crazy week at work with the power. I'm a network administrator and we found out that our emergency generator is not hooked up correctly.......oops, but at least not my oops, just my mess to clean up. Anyway, I got a chance to work on the tractor today.

Got the new brake stub axle put in, and then put the differential lever back together.....then stopped. You can turn the brake axle by hand, but it is really hard to do. And when the differential pedal is pushed it isn't moving the lever...something wrong. Got mad and stopped. I need to take those two pieces back off tomorrow and start again fresh.
