yanmar 1900 charging problem

recently bought a ym1900 (has 2tr19 engine) and battery died- replaced and
had to recharge after a couple days. removed alternator and had rebuilt and
refit measured voltage and while tractor running only has around 12.5 volts
. could it be the VR?

Since you've replaced everything else (and hopefully cleaned all connections), then yes it is probably the VR. Good news is you'll have a brand spanking new charging system soon. Good luck
