Tractor
Yamar b1500
I’m in need of some advice. Helping a friend with his tractor. It has been sitting 8 years. I replaced the injection pump on the tractor. I got it running but now it wants to run wide open. My first thought is that it is the governor; however, I watched a you tube of some installing injection fuel pump and aligned the governor. I completed everything this person did and I can’t figure out what else would cause this to run wide open like that. I read a few forums but I couldn’t see where someone else explained what the fix was for the running wide open.

I'm confused, You say B1500. A Yanmar B series is a excavator, not a tractor.

Even after adjustment, chances are, the shims are shot in the fuel pump as it SAT for sooooo long.

Now to free up the shins and plungers in the fuel pump, see the Yanmar section. It's for tractors, not like your excavator, but it should help you.

Talk to Fredricks. Stuck Injection pump a serious safety problem. The Pump Guy works on them also. I've seen him on here often. Get someone killed Again if somethings wrong. Decompression lever is about the only way to shut it down unless you shove something in the air cleaner. If you can!!

Thank you! I installed a new fuel pump. When I got it primed it started but the engine ran wide open. I found Matt,s YT video on Yamar governor as That was what I thought was the cause. I found that I had installed everything just as Matt described.

I’m here if ya need me.
Thank you I appreciate it. I put a new fuel pump on it. I adjusted the linkages.
And it still wants to run away. Any ideas on what I do next?

It will stop if you shut the fuel off.

Recheck your work. There has to be something missed for it to keep running like that. Take it slow and careful.
