Xr3037h throttle control issue

I have a xr3037h ls model that has an issue with the throttle control. It will all of a sudden accelerate to about 3000 rpm and stay there. Moving the throttle control lever will not decrease the rpms and turning the switch off will not stop the engine. The only way to stop the engine is to apply brake and stall it.?

Check your oil level...seriously!!! Every time prior to use.
If it's overfull, possibly with diesel fuel, you have an injector issue, or fuel leaking into the oil somehow. Check the oil real close and see if it smells like diesel fuel, or if it's very thin, like it's diluted with diesel fuel.
Sounds like a run-away diesel to me...

Oil level and smell ok. This is an intermittent issue. It will happen and as suddenly as it appears it just disappears.

Check that the throttle linkage is not binding and all springs still attached as required.
