DK 45S Goes Full Power

Tractor is a 2005 with no previous problems and perhaps 900 hours. Tractor was not used for about two months and was hard to get started. Ran it for about five minutes and then shut it down. Returned ten minutes later and it fired right up except it went full throttle. Could not turn it off using the key. Only way to shut it down was to put it in gear and step on the brakes to stall it. Inspected the foot throttle and hand throttle and both moved normally. Brought it to my mechanic and it did the same when he started it. He has no idea what the problem. Any ideas?

I don't remember the details, but if you search thru the Kioti forums I believe you will find the answer. There was a period where this was not uncommon.

If I remember the details. The later 2005-2008 models has issues with the fuel shutoff solenoid slamming the rod that turns the pump pistons to change the amount of fuel for different rpm's The issue was the solenoid was hitting that fuel shutoff rod with enough force that it breaks the teeth on the pump pistons either jamming then into a closed position which prevents starting or jams them at full throttle and you know the aftereffect.

The earlier 2005 models used a different fuel shutoff setup and didn't have the issues with the broken injection pump pistons.
