update: went to dealer today and test drove the tractors. The X595 is a REAL nice machine. My thoughts are that the 2210 is more of a bare-bones machine (no offense) whereas the X595 is more of a creature comfort machine. Man, when that diesel starts it sure sounds like a powerful machine, and that it seems. It has plenty of power no doubt. I didn't notice a huge difference in manueverability with the 2210 versus the 595. I'm still stuck though with which machine I'd like to purchase, because they are both so amazing. If i lined them up +'s and -'s I think there is really no clear cut winner, but the 595, after testing it, seems a little better sutied for my needs. Still, I'm not quite sure with which machine to go with. Thanks for all of the help though. will keep you all updated.

The 2210 a bare bones machine? It has a drink holder! Guess that's one reason why it is $300 more than my 4010.

I got cruise control and more heavy hydraulics though.

Pricing is regional and very much so influenced by economic factors... The dealer that just sold me my 2210 (2004, but my 4th Deere through him) charged the following:

2210: "bare bones" for $9227
210 FEL: "sparsely equiped" with 53" bucket, ballast box, and level indicator for $2163
62C MMM: "basic model, but waxed soooo fine" for $1556

I was "just kidding" remember "no offense" Hope i didn't offend anyone...just a joke...I also learned that the 45 FEL can lift 750 to 3 feet, or something like that. That is probably a bit over my needs.

I still think the 2210 would be a better choice for you. As I mentioned before, I had a 595 and really liked it, but quickly encountered some of its shortcomings, mainly difficulty changing attachments and inability to operate more than one attachment simultaneously. As far as the looks and performance, it could do everything I needed within reason, and looked good doing it!! There was nothing I wanted to do it could not do, given enough time. I became disillusioned somewhat with the loader, as it is slow. For VERY light work, it would be fine, but you would be surprised to find how many times you wish "you had more." The main benefits to the 595 is that it looks much better than the 2210 and it is more comfortable, by a slim margin. The 2210 is more industrial, and that's fine. The main reason I feel the 2210 is a better option for you is that if you are not 100% sure that you want to keep either tractor for a LONG time, go with the 2210. It's resale tends to be higher, as it is a true subCUT, which is a very popular segment. No matter what your thoughts may be now, you would want to plan for the future. When I rolled off the lot with my 595, I thought our match was for life, but less than two years later, I find myself with a 4310. Worth thinking about.

how come you jumped up to a 4000 series?? Man would i love a 4000+ series, but it is way too much machine for my needs. As for the 2210, i still haven't ruled it out...it's so hard to decide...even though all of you have presented very good opinions.... is the ROPS on the '10 removeable? then it makes me come to the point, if the 2210 is more top-heavy, why not get the. seemed a bit more stable /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The main reason I went with the 4310 is to get a substantially more capable machine for my current needs, which involves a good deal of loader and groundbreaking work. My dealer, who is also a good friend, strongly feels there just is not enough difference between the 595,2210 and small 4000's to merit trading between them, and I tend to agree. Yes, the 2000 and small 4000 machines have stronger hydraulics, but in reality they are similar in their abilities and speed with tasks (loader work notwithstanding). To get a REAL difference in performance, the mid frames are the way to go, with the 4310 being the most popular in the class. This is the reason I went with a 4310, and I do not regret it. Even though I too deliberated about my needs, I have been able to do so many things with my machine that I would never have attempted with my 595, as nice as it was. There is nothing I can think of that my current machine does not do better and faster than the 595, and it rivals it for comfort!

Despite the 4000's being really nice, they are ay too big for my needs. The 2210 looks about the exact same size as the 595, save the extra height and different back tires... Mind you, the 595, or '10 is to replace a belt drive 3 yr, old sears lt POS...no matter what i go with, i can garauntee I will behappy with soemthing other than the lt1000. That thing recently has been no better than a hunk of noisy no do good metal. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Well, got into some negotiations with the dealer AGAIN... and i realize that pricing is regionaly based, but I want some pointers to see if I am in the general area of a good deal. I have a quote now of 12,953 which includes a 3 bag powerflow and a 48" deck. No 40 amp alternator here. I am within a gooddeal or should I try to talk them down more?
