My new x300 starting running bad the second time we used it. Carried it back to dealer to find that a push rod came loose!
They fixed it right away and changed the plugs that were about fouled out and it seems to be OK now. Anyone else have a similar problem?

Did they told you why it was loose? Push rods don't get loose for no reason. It is either the rocker got loose or the hydraulic lifter didn't work.
Our mover has 25HP Kohler Command engine that suffered the same problem due to rocker getting loose. needles to say it had about 900 ours when it happened.

Didn't say... Just fixed it and sent me on my way. Glad it has a 4 year warranty.

Your X300 should have Kawasaki engine. Kawasaki has very good reputation and I couldn't find reports about problems with the valve train or in fact with anything related to the engine. So yours must be just a fluke.

It seems to be fine now. It is a Kawasaki engine. It is a very nice operating mower! Just gave me a scare early on.
It's at 12 hours now and running good. Bad luck seems to hunt me down, sometimes.
