Ok, thats called a sidewinder saw...it's not a worm drive saw.

Crap now along with my other problems Im dyslexic.
My apologies. My wife tells me it would be scary ifn I paid attention.

It's still a good saw. It's built many a things out there.

I prefer worm drive saws simply because the sight line for the cut is on the left side. Sidewinders are on the right hand side, which requires looking over the saw, while making a cut, to keep a line on the cut.

I got this little sidewinder Skil about 25 years ago. At the time it was the only sidewinder with a left hand blade so you can see where you are cutting. Like a wormdrive. I used a wormdrive Skil for many years but this little guy can do about 80% of the work and weighs about half what the wormdrive does.

It is no longer made. But there are other left hand sidewinders on the market these days, usually cordless.

I bought a lefthanded Porter cable years ago, blade is on the left so I can see cut line.
