Any idea what the proper rpm is for heavy disking or bushhogging for the 115 cu. in. E-350 engine? Assuming the engine has been broken in, of course.

Hey WTM i bought a 3525 which is basically the same tractor except for new skin and power steering (at least that my understaning). I've been running mine @approx 1500-1800 RPM's and seems to do ok...book says 2020RPM or there about (that would be PTO RPM's). But from reading some of the other post most say to play with it and whatever feels right is probally good. Also where at in Mississippi are you located i live in Vancleave Ms...What dealer did you buy from?

There will be a lot of variation for both applications, depending on ground speed and conditions. You want to go slow or fast enough that you have control, and feel comfortable with the speed you are running. You do not want to put the tractor in too high a gear, so that it bogs down, yet at the same time want it in high enough gear so that you aren't revving the engine too high.
With disking, you want to go fast enough to break up the dirt, yet not so fast that you are leaving trenches.
With bush hogging your PTO speed doesn't have to be at 540, that is more of an upper limit. You do want your PTO to be running fast enough so that the brush or grass doesn't bog down the engine.
As you gain experience you will get a feel for what is right.

Mahindra 3325, MDI-1895E, 115 ci engine... mostly "bush hog" use, some roto-tiller, engine speed 2000 ~ 2100 RPM light load, dropping to 2000 RPM heavy work load.
May just be me (or my particular tractor), but I think the engine runs smoothest and sounds best at/near 2000 RPM. Fuel use has averaged just under 1/2 gallon per hour...
