Today was our first burn with the newly installed wood stove and it couldn't have gone better!! Temps started and stayed in the low 30's all day, lows will be going down to the teens tonight.
Built a fire about 10am with a slow burn of hemlock and cherry at about 12% moisture content (tested with a HF moisture meter). Stove drafts way better with the double wall. I have been able to keep it close to all the way choked down and still got an ample burn with little to no smoke out of the chimney. Best of all with an all day fire temps in our living room where the stove lives never got hotter than 77 degrees. And stayed right about 75 degrees all day. In my opinion that is PERFECT! No more 85 degree living rooms laying in my underwear with the ceiling fan on full blast DYING.
