A former supervisor's been married 5 times since I worked for him 35 years ago.
He lost his truck. He lost his camp. By #5 all that he had left was his Mustang, so she took that. At some point he needs to realize that they are just using him for an ATM machine. If the marriage goes south, why is she entitled to what he brought into it?

The way to solve that is to marry a woman that earns a lot, and still allows you to be a man.
Women, no matter if they earn a little, or earn a lot, don’t respect or want to get with wussified men.

We met in high school, married young at 19.

We had the same great French teacher in school, who taught more about life than he did about conjugating French verbs.

He said "...Loving someone is a decision..."

He then added "...It's a decision you have to make every morning..."

We've both been making that decision for the last 17,865 days...(give or take one or two )

Not much else from high school has been so valuable...

I'm not pretending. I'm saying that that's the way it should be.

The preacher that married us, told us in the pre-marriage session: " a successful marriage requires a 100% effort." Then looked at me and continued, " some days you'll contribute 10%, that means she must contribute 90%. The perhaps the next day that will be reversed. As long as the result totals 100% you should have a successful marriage".
Neither of us has ever forgotten that sage advice, and work every day to make 100% by bedtime.
I pass that advice along to anyone who talks to me about getting married.

Been married for almost 27 years on 1st marriage, I guess marriage isn't for the modern world? The sex ends soon enough after eating the wedding cake........so you have to tolerate the roomate thing happening eventually. Else we do most things separate besides eating dinner and traveling occasionally together.
