Hey RobJ,

You know what that is, that is the biggest enemy of men that are 40 and older. My back really hates the shovel, but for some reasons I keep going back and use it, but very minimal though.

I've got one of those enemys as well. Called a grubbing hoe, mattoch, whatever. Digging a trench, picking, whatever. Maybe it's my 6'2" heigh and all the bending over. But I rather spend all day on the top side of a shovel filling a poor mans dump truck than 30 minutes stooped over a grubbing hoe.

When we built the garage I let me son learn how to use one. You can see in the second picure it didn't take long for him to start using it as a crutch.
