The YM1700 won't take as long to do because you don't have to pull the axle. It is a good idea to replace both the seal & the seal collar.

Worked it about 3 hours yesterday moving a pile of dirt at son's house. Don't see any leaks yet. Hopefully a successful repair.

Thanks for the additional information, Eddie. Besides the actual repair, my challenge will be doing it in the New England Winter, nice and chilly! :)

Man, I feel for you there. I've got a 2000 square foot garage, 1000 square feet is insulated and heated. I'm blessed when I have to do repairs.

Also the Thermostart glow plug was burned out. Replaced it.
