Right click on the "start" button in the left bottom corner of the screen and then select "device manager" . Select the "network adaptors" and then the Wi-Fi adaptor (if you don't recognize the adaptor it is usually one of the top 2 or 3 on the list) It should indicate it is operating correctly. Then click on drivers and search for current updates.
