It generally falls on deaf ears when anything is said,we tell them it is is a bunch of crap, and laugh about it ,but you go ahead and do it,because they are the ones in charge and they sign the paychecks.)

Old Hickory,
You ever get the feeling it works like this slightly cleaned up version of "How Stuff Happens"?

How Stuff Happens...

In the Beginning was The Plan
And then came the Assumptions
And the Assumptions were without form
And the Plan was completely without substance
And the darkness was upon the face of the Workers
And the Workers spoke amongst themselves, saying
"It is a crock of stuff, and it stinketh."
And the Workers went unto their Supervisors and sayeth,
"It is a pail of dung and none may abide the odor thereof."
And the Supervisors went unto their Managers and sayeth unto them,
"It is a container of excrement and it is very strong,
such that none may abide by it."
And the Managers went unto their Directors and sayeth,
"It is a vessel of fertilizer, and none may abide its strength."
And the Directors spoke among themselves, saying one to another,
"It contains that which aids plant growth, and it is very strong."
And the Directors went unto the Vice Presidents and sayeth unto them,
"It promotes growth and is very powerful."
And the Vice Presidents went unto the President and sayeth unto him,
"This new Plan will actively promote the growth and efficiency of this
Company, and in these Areas in particular."
And the President looked upon The Plan,
And saw that it was good, and The Plan became Policy.
And this is how Stuff Happens. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

They pay 15% of my base pay, whether I contribute or not ,it is an exceptionally good plan. Paid every 2 weeks.

Yep, I guess that was common long ago, but not so common now. I worked for the post office for 5 years; got paid every two weeks, then when I went to work on the police department in 1964, police and firemen got paid twice a month on the 9th and 24th of the month. I have no idea why since the rest of the city employees got paid every two weeks. And eventually they changed the police and fire to every two weeks also.

I get paid weakly. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif They say that they can't pay me what I am worth. Said something about a minimum wage law. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

We just went from 24 paychecks to 26. I liked the 24 better since it lined up with paying the bills. My wife receives 12 checks per year.

As far as 401k's, my wife get's 4% plus a traditional retirement pension, whereas I get 10.5% matching to my 4% contribution, but no pension, just medical coverage. Both companies match with each paycheck, and our previous two companies when we worked in Texas matched with each check. I think we both have pretty good deals. I just hope it stays that way.

( Why don't we all learn from the ultimate gentleman BIRD who never gives his opinion with first stating " this is only my opinion". There are several more folks on this form who are humble like BIRD. )

May I tell my humbly opinion?
Looking at the picture of BIRD and his number of posts, I guess he is a retired man who is a "ununu elemis, elegini duvara asmis." So, he isn't worrying about his market competitors, not worrying about how he'll make the bread for his family, not worrying about whether this tractor fits his budget or not, etc etc. To my observations, probably 90% of folks here on TBN are worrying about these and therefore, they are too busy to behave like a gentleman/lady. This was an humble opinion of nomadic gentleman;).

Ps: "ununu elemis duvara asmis" is a saying here we use for those who finished the work, and for those raised children and became retired people. Its literally meaning is that; "finished sifting the flour and hanged the sifter/sieve on the wall." Many people still sifting the flour.

our 401 k match is $400.00 per year if you participate. I think it is just enough to check a box somewhere on a reporting form for the corp. I wonder what they get for that?

I could not disagree more. Of the 8,561 registered members, 99.9% are not too busy to behave like gentlemen and ladies. Being polite, in life or on TBN, is a choice.

Nomad, the people that are worried about bread for their family are not buying new tractors. TBN members are here because this is their enjoyment in life. They come here for diversion of the every day stresses of their life. RET had a bad day as each of us have now and then and we all understand and joke him back into the un-stressful way of the tractor and open land. We are like a big family helping each other in our own way. Hands down Bird is the best poster but it takes all kinds to make this board interesting. Compared to other boards this is the most professional and interesting I have ever seen. Even you make it interesting in you own way. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Let me guess. You already hanged your sifter on the wall, and you bought another sifter to sift some more floor?

Mike, to my observation, sifting rooms "Buying Eq.", "Attachments", etc here are much more busier to be polite than this "Related" room where sifting isn't being done. If Bird is really still sifting, then he too is doing that on other rooms. Therefore, it's normal to be more polite when you step in this room Related Topics. I guess this Related room should be re-named as Resting room where busy forum workers are taking a rest after a hard work in other rooms. Just my little obersvations.
