WHY DO I NEED A TRAILER !

I thought to haul my tractor on .

After using a wrecker 3 times since Nov. I'm beginning think to haul my pickups on and then if I needed to transport my tractor I'd have something to haul it on.

Sounds like you need to upgrade your pickups with 3 breakdowns since Nov. Of course if you have one break down, use another with the trailer to go get it. My current insurance covers towing plus I have triple A for the ocassion I'm not in my own vehicle.
The bad part of owning a trailer is that everyone else I know who breaks down takes advantage of me to pick up their broken vehicle to avoid the high towing bill.

1*All 3 tows weren't for the same Veh. or item.
2*It would be my luck the Veh. needing towed would be the truck I pull the trailer with.
That would be like trying to haul myself in a wheelborrow.
3* & 4*I had 3 A several years ago but they would only pay for a 3 mile tow;but my garage was always at least 12 miles away.
This resulted in me paying 75 percent of the tow plus i was also paying the membership dues or towing the veh to a shop within 3 miles that charged twice as much as my garage does.
This just wasn't working so I dropped triple A.
Some time later my auto insurer started offering towing coverage with no millage limit at about the same as it was costing me for AAA.
This meant that I could have my veh towed from anywhere to my garage for nothing.
I jumped on it and stayed with that coverage with my insurer for sereval years untill they too like AAA cut the milage limet to 3 miles just like 3A so I dropped the towing coverage with them .
That didn't work with 3 A so it wasn't going to work with the insurance company either.

AAA+ will allow much longer towing distances than basic AAA. You used to need to have been a member for 1 year to upgrade to +. I think I've paid for the towing benefits many times over by way of annual dues. It does however, give peace of mind to add your spouse.

My thinking is if I had a trailer why would I even
need triple A or towing coverage on my auto policy?

I think it comes down to the same argument people give for owning a dump truck or dump trailer, in a nut shell, how often will you use it?

I have thought about getting a used car hauler trailer myself to move my tractor around. But then there is the insurance issue for covering the tractor off property (my homeowners only covers me on my property) etc. If I need to move it in the local area I can call the local towing company and they can move it for me with a rollback truck. The local Kubota dealer charges $200 for a round trip to and from the dealer. It is hard to justify the cost of the trailer plus the extra tractor insurance coverage in my case.

Now if I had more than one property and was moving the tractor around say a few times a year it would be worth spending the $$ to get tractor insurance and a trailer. In my case I just have a 4x8 utility trailer that cost me $75 off Craigslist that I use to pick up mulch, plants or stuff from home cheapo.

1*But 100 to 200 buck tow bills start to add up too.
2*I have a nice 6 x 8 foot tilt trailer but I just use my pick up to haul this sort of stuff rather than fussing with hooking up and dragging the trailer around.

Only you can answer that question. Only you know your needs, wants,and desires. However if you have good friends that have trailers, then you can rely on them for support. If you hate to pay other people to do repetitive things like hauling things like tractors, wood, straw, etc, then you night need a trailer. If you ask what kind of trailer you should have, you will get many different answers.

Now , about another subject. your use of very small print and pastel colors, these eyes of mine are not as good as they used to be. Large print would be good, or bold print would be good. Thanks
