Why break chain on snowblower?

/ Why break chain on snowblower? #31
I have my own snow blower mysteries I need solved.

But I have never seen a blower chain break for no reason. Only, when I
ingested stones or other debris, have I had a chain break!

Recently, I had a chain come apart, because the link was going the wrong way, and an accumulation of dirt had forced out the locking clip.

Maybe, your dealing with some really cheap chain? Chinese possibly?
They are really good at making stuff that looks just like something
of quality!

Good news!! Have you determined what was causing the chain to break?

I think because of rocks but now that i put a chain from TSC on no more breaks and i have still thrown rocks. One was big enough to make a good size scratch and dent in back plate, 4 by 4 inches and still new chain held. I think original chain was junk.
