who knows yanmar?

anyone know some basics about a ym2700: what type of oil? whatoil filter? how much oil? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Can't help you on the filter or quantity.

But for the oil.. choose a good quality oil rated for diesel service. Many like a sae 30wt.. but in hot weather a sae 40wt wouldn't be out of the question

Oil Type

Engine - (depending on your climate) 10w40 engine oil usually

Transmission/hydraulic/rear-end (same reservoir)= Hydraulic Transmission oil (Texaco HyTrans works well)

Check the oil levels with the dipstick.

I'm new to a Yanmar tractor but been around diesels for a while. I've had very good luck with Rotella oil 15w40. It's a good all around oil for summer and winter both. It's also easy to find from Walmart to any auto parts store. As far as Hydro, rearend ect. I get mine from NAPA. It's called universal tractor fluid. If you read the back of the jug it will tell you what it is compatable with and I think it will serve you well. Hope this helps...Southpaw
