Boulevard Wheat for beer and Jim Beam for whiskey. Don't need much else but a glass and some ice.

Did little experiment last night. Poured 1/4 glass of gentleman jack and added a small shot of fireball. Was actually pretty good. Gave it a slight bite. And me a slight buzz!!

Next time you get up to Traverse City go up on the Lelenau peninsula to the Black Star distillery. They've got Old George there. About $55 for a fifth. Fine stuff,,

Not whiskey, but when I visit the Philippines, I can have Tanduay (rum) and coke all night for about $1.50 total. Last time I was there, Pure Gold was buy one/take one at a tad over ten bucks for Evan Williams. Can't buy it that cheap in the US.

I'm sitting in a hotel room in TC right now for my wife's and my anniversary. We're headed in the wine tour tomorrow. I'll have to pick some up tomorrow.

Early in WWII in those parts...my dad said for either 50 cents or a dollar fifty a day (can't remember) a nice lady would keep a tub of iced beer (San Miguel, I think) under their bunks...

San Miguel is expensive in the Philippines now, about 30 cents a bottle. When I was living there, a dime would buy a bottle. Funny, we have a food-maxx in town now that carrys export San Miguel and Red Horse, $9.99 a six pack but its just not the same.

You guys have fun! Also look up Dicks pour houses if you get time (Its on Lelenau too) . There is a distillery right down the street from it but they serve things like avocado sandwiches. Skip them and go to Dicks - good burgers and lots of good micro brewery beer.
