I have been searching the forum for the last three hours and have not found the info I'm looking for. I have all the steal I need to build a toothbar except the teeth. Does anyone know what style tooth is used on the toothbars?

Thanks,
Joe

I know there are a bunch of places to buy them from, I need to know which series of shank to use.

I ordered from Fabco, their catalog is online. I printed the page and kept blowing the teeth up on a copier until they wer full size. Then I compared them with my bucket and the steel I had for the toothbar and picked one. I already had the angle milled on the steel and ot was a bit off, but a few minutes with a 4" angle grinder in the 6 spots fixed that. Good luck, this is the best thing every for an FEL! Mine is on all summer.

moeh1,

Which ones did you end up going with?

Joe,
Rats, I knew you'd ask, I don't recall....It was a few years ago and I probably don't have the paperwork anymore. Every bucket seems to be built different, I do recall that it wasn't the one I originally thought I would pick when I looked at the catalog online. Best I can recommend is to blow a few up and see what works for your bucket.

I also used |Fabco teeth and adaptors!
Go online and the catalogue will have all the specs such as height, grip debth etc.
Basically you will be using a flat bar, say 3" X 3/8" to weld the adaptors onto and then you need to know your bucket metal thickness plus your existing cutting edge thickness to determine the type of adaptor you need.
Be a bit generous as I went too snug and needed to use a sledge to pound the adaptor bar into place.
On the otherhand the 5/16" 'ear bolts' have never failed in 3 years of usage.

But man what a differance in digging power.

Yep I can now scoop full buckets of rooty rocky top soil and fill stock.

Down side is back grading as with teeth that becomes a no-no, but then that is what a back blade is for, isn't it!

On the other hand with the bucket in 'full dump' and back grading mode you now hace a super 'root rake'!

Best thing since sliced bread! (for a loader bucket)
