Yep. Like your signature picture....

I spread the forks as wide as they will go on the fork attachment and spear 2 rounds plus one on the back. 3 are better than 2 anytime.:D

Thats the m5040 it would never pick 2 up on the front those bales are 2000lbs:D If it would trust me I would be doing it,I dont think the 7040 will either but its something I havent tried yet:thumbsup:

That Delta Hook system is very nice but not for 800 bucks. plus an additional couple hundred for each additional coupler plate..... I don't have steel hinges on my wallet either......:)

However, it don't look that hard to fabricate.

Have to agree for the most part and the $$$$ part is why I don't have the set up. But to fabricate in the same manor as in bending the plate would be NO fun without the proper equipment to do so.

I think you may have been away from your L5030 too long, the bi-speed turns tight, but not that tight! Im guessing no loader on the 105? Or at least no fenders?

It's funny how one contemplates the purchase of a new tractor, then when it arrives and you get comfortable with it, it don't seem all that big anymore.

I thought my M9 was big and then I got the 105 and now, neither seem particularly large. Actually, the 105 with the bi-speed turn turns sharper than my old 5030 did.

No, no fenders..... On either. I consider the Kubota front fenders to be an overpriced accessory. Both have loaders and interestingly both are easier to dismount and remount than the 5030 was, especially the 9. Both have an ATI Bobcat style 2 pin QD frame for bucket attachment.

I find the 105 to be more manuverable in a tight place than the 5030 was but thats a personal observation and just me. Could be the gear drive versus the hydro. The gear drive in creep makes the tractor a breeze to wiggle around in tight spots. Same with the M9 though it has the normal front axle. The wheel cut is tighter on the 9 than the 105.

My disadvantage is height. The 5030 was much lower than either of the 2 big frame tractors. I had to do some selective trimming of trees around here......:D

I would have preferred the Kioti style external 3PH lift/lower lever on the back, but you can't have everything.

I might talk myself into a new 125X yet.

The M9 will and so will the 105, so long as there is one on the back spear. Both of mine have the cast centers on the back wheels and nothing but Obama juice in the tires. I have 30 PSI in the R1's and they really squat in the front.

I seem to remember reading somewhere (maybe here) about the front axle on a 9 being weak. I scratched my head over that one. The 9 and the 105' front axles, size wise are pretty similar. The knuckles are a little different but the castings mirror each other.

I found it interesting that the loaders on both tractors, in typical Kubota fashion, will overpower the tractors prior to going on bypass. This spring I was popping some rose-of sharon bushes with the 9 with the forks and got the forks under a bush and rolled them back. I almost flipped the tractor sideways. The rears came right off the ground before I realized what was happening. Big pucker factor.....:)

Won't do that again......

I was originally going to get fenders but with the Kubota M20 loader in Canada they have to install a steering stop kit. I'll be darned if I give up any turning radius!

Height was the main reason I strongly considered getting a GL 5740 instead Of the M7040. Wish the cab height was about 6-8" lower as I'd be able to clean out my pole barn with it then. The old MF just found a new job I guess.

I found it interesting that my M7040 was only offered with the Euro style QA. Almost all the farm tractors in Canada here seem to have that as the standard QA. Compacts have the Bobcat style.

Do you guys know if the bobcat style is an option from Kubota in the USA? Or is this why you went with ATI.

I am trading in my forks and hay spear as a result. Losing a bit of money but at the same time I get to pick up much heavier duty forks and spears.

My USA M7040 has the skid steer QA on the LA1153 FEL. I've bought several different attachments, made some, and bought some blank plates.

Kubota can get the skidsteer plate for the Quicke loader here, but it costs them money and then they have a euro tach plate sitting around that won't sell because everyones loader has them already.

The eurotach is standard on all the main brands ag tractors in Canada now. My MF can grab the neighbours JD attachments, or the other neighbours Case attachments, or the other neighbours NH stuff etc.

Its also a lot nicer to hook up, less friggin and you don't have to get out to lock it, just roll the bucket back and she's locked on.

Also, 0 chance of popping a bucket off. My Kubota has trouble with bad fitting skidsteer stuff, not all of it fits tight and they pop off once in a while. The Kubota stuff is good, just the other generic stuff.
