I just purchased a B7510 w/302FEL and reading around on the forum it seems to me that I will need some kind of counter weight to help with FEL work. I need a box blade anyway so would this be a good counterweight? I haven't recieved my tractor yet so I was thinking on Monday I would call the dealer and have him get me a box blade as well. Does kubota make these or should I go with another brand. What kind of prices are these usaually and what size would be good for my tractor. I might as well finance it huh?
For a 7510 I would go no larger than a 48" box blade, and even a heavy 48" blade may be a bit much for that tractor. Midwest make a light 48" box blade called the BB15-48. It would be a good fit for your tractor. The B7510 is very light, under 1400# so you are limited to the size box blade you can handle.
I had a B7500 and used a 48" box and also filled the rear tires for better traction...it needed it.
I would recommend a BB that has the double lug attach point instead of a single pin for the 3pt lower arms, they are easier to hook up and are stronger. I know Bush Hog makes theirs like this but there are several others that do also.
I use a Howse EB48 behind my B7510. It weighs 394 pounds and seems about right for both width and ballast. I use the FEL a lot and have never had a problem with the tractor feeling light in the rear.
Depending on the soil and type of work you will be doing tire filling might help. Try it for a while without and see if you find yourself spinning the tires a lot, if so fill them. I used 2 gallons of anti-freeze and the rest water because we have very little freezing weather in East Texas, filled 75%.
