Where was your generator made?

Was Generac bought out by new owners or a new investment company? Who owns Generac?

I have no doubt about your loyalty to the brand, but have been down this road in depth with HVAC and have given up LOL
In 2006 it was purchased by some entity…possibly a holding group. And reorganized. New management, new goals, etc.

I forget what percentage of the home standby market it holds..it used to be 90%.

Ive sold and installed kohler, some B&Stratton, and cummins. There all about the same in capability as far as i can tell. I just had better luck working with generacs warranty and technical support teams. And since i hate having to tear into a generator and find out whats wrong with it to make it work again, i like that i dont have much issues with the 300+ units I maintain.

The big issue is, Americans, in general, want it cheap and so they buy the stuff of questionable quality. Cheap and quality and 2 words that are not synonymous with each other. You cannot have a top quality tool or anything else for that matter, cheaper than everything else. Just don't work that way.
I can only speak from experience within the HVAC field. What I do know is something being more expensive does not equate to better quality and less issues. That IS a fact within the HVAC industry.

I have a couple Honda's and am surprised to learn they "may" have been made in China. I also thought Geneac used to advertise they were made in the USA. I have no experience with Winco.

And old reliable US-made 13HP 6500W Generac, which I modified for LP use.

How about assembled in USA from components sourced worldwide?
What you need to find is a manufacturer's marketing flyer with where it is made or assembled.

In the HVAC field, guys would always say "made in America" but they were wrong. It is assembled in the USA, not "made in the USA". Even then, they were including the entire line sold by the manufacturer, but that is not always the case as some models are made elsewhere outside the US.

Guys on the street could add their own fudge factor, but the manufacturer can not.

My Ridgid has Yammyhammy motor. The generator head says One World Technologies but has a SC address. When I needed a part they gave me Gardner.

Gardner is the parts distributor for Ridged and the Yamaha engines that are used on them.
