A rops should not be thought of as a single device, but a set of devices.. and in that set is a proper seat with seatbelts.

9 psi with flotation tires (A man standing is 8psi). They are awkward to run, but when its wet and you have to get on it, there is no substitute. The regular turf tires are a little under 20 and fine if it is not wet.

I mow over 5 acres of lawn, and with the 18 hp 4wd, 60 inch RFM, takes me about 2 hrs, and about a gallon on diesel. R4 agg tires, not a problem with ruts, or tracks. I need the 4wd, because of the hills that I have to mow. In 2wd the tractor will just slide down them, so steep, that I only mow facing down hill. The mower is in my avitar, with my 6 year old grandson in my lap, and no the mower was not running in the picture.

not exactly. your phrasing said 'rops wouldn't do any good as you would not stay...'

my point is, is there are rops AND seatbelts or NO rops AND no seatbelts. your specific prasing allowed for the possibility of rops AND no seatbelts by saying rops would be useless.. etc.

digging thru context is fine.. however.. the statement should be able to stand for the casual reader the blips in, reads 1 single message and pops back out, possibly thinking rops can be had with no seatbelts, which, they should not be though of as being possible..e tc. best to say it all up front, for safety's sake, then rely on the casual user / reader digging thru multiple pages of text to find that out. that's my take anyway. give em all the info up front and go.

all I'm saying on the subject.. with no more comment further in this thread about it.

My yard is nothing special but rather large...
I mow approximately 4 acres that I would describe as 1/3 yard and the rest around barns and the spring house...
For my situation I feel that I have the best combination of speed and quality of cut...
A 28 HP NH 1720 with a 72" Woods RFM...
My tractor weighs in @ 3300# with loaded tires and I leave the FEL on it so I am around
4000# give or take with an additional 660# for the RFM...
With AG tires I try to not turn too sharp and I have very little lawn degradation...
This combination is perfect for my imperfect mowing conditions...
If I were more concerned with a lot of obstacles and better mowing situation I would want something lighter and smaller...
